Why This Reference Exists
A booking record and a custody answer are not the same thing. The Sheriff's inmate inquiry handles current or broad county questions. Admissions Review works off admission dates. Neither public interface shows booking photographs. The Sheriff's Records and Identification Unit keeps those photos along with incarceration records, so a request has to go there. Courts hold whatever happens after booking. If a sentence sends someone to state prison, the Georgia Department of Corrections carries the record from that point on.
Everything here is organized so a reader can pick the agency that owns the record. The pages walk through custody labels, request steps, court filing stages, and the lines between state and federal systems. The goal is a clearer official lookup, not a substitute for the office in charge.
What the Pages Provide
The county systems are organized by the question a reader is trying to answer.
- The Cobb County booking hub combines the roster, date-range admissions, booking-record fields, photo request route, court path, retention notes, and custody-state fallbacks.
- Most Wanted separates the Sheriff’s selective wanted list from a specific warrant check and gives safety-first contact guidance.
- Crime News & Mugshots identifies local reporting patterns and shows how to move from a story to an official booking or court record.
- City pages distinguish Mableton’s county-police model, Marietta Police and Municipal Court, and Smyrna’s city-jail boundary.
- Official links point to the Cobb Sheriff detention system, Cobb State Court search, GDC offender search, BOP, ICE, Georgia Archives, and state public-record guidance.
What We Cannot Do
This site is not part of Cobb County government. It has no ties to the Sheriff's Office, any city police department, a jail, the Georgia Department of Corrections, or any other agency. It also does not create, keep, correct, or release official records.
- It cannot confirm a person’s current custody or release status.
- It cannot accept bond, arrange a visit, transfer money, or change a court date.
- It cannot obtain a booking record or photograph on a reader’s behalf.
- It cannot give legal advice or predict what a court will decide.
- It cannot promise that a phone number, fee, address, roster field, or outside link remains current.
Only the office holding a record can confirm what it says right now. Turn to the official Sheriff, police, court, corrections, or locator service linked from the relevant page.
Search Partner Disclosure
Outside providers supply some of the search boxes on these pages. Each one sets its own pricing, results, and data practices. When a visitor follows a tool through to a paid signup, the operator of Cobb County Busted Mugshots may earn a referral fee. That fee supports the reference service. It buys no control over a partner's output or policies.
For confirming custody, pulling a booking record, or following a court outcome, official government sources remain the best stop.
